Study reveals top fast-food restaurants in America by state

WASHINGTON (TND) — From McDonald's and Chick-Fil-A, to Dominos and Pizza Hut, a new study lists the top fast-food restaurants across the U.S.

The study was compiled by PriceListo, which describes itself as a price-tracking website, and was based on "regional average monthly search volume over the last 12 months and considering the highest earning fast-food restaurants across America."

The fast-food industry is invaluable to the U.S. economy. In fact, these restaurants are estimated to be worth $366.9 billion in 2023," a spokesperson noted in a news release. “This research sheds light on America's favorite fast-food restaurants, displaying a wide variety of tastes across the country, from burgers to pizza or fried chicken to iced coffee. McDonalds has been crowned the most popular. Nevertheless, pizza takes the biggest slice of the list with Dominos, Pizza Hut, and Papa John’s all making the top five.”

PriceListo shared the top three for every state.

The restaurant chains that appeared the most were McDonald's and Dominos. At least one popped up for each state.

McDonald's takes the crown as the most popular fast-food chain in the country, with 22 states searching for it the most," according to a news release.

Dominos was named the second most popular in the nation.

In some cases, the same restaurant earned the top slot, as well as the second slot.

The most popular fast-food restaurant is none other than McDonalds, with 14,879,233 monthly searches across America," the release noted. "This chain’s iconic golden arches can be seen at 13,515 locations across the country, where everything from cheeseburgers to apple pies are available at a moment’s notice." Dominos

Dominos, on average, is searched 11,638,991 times per month in the country, according to the survey.

Louisiana, Vermont, and Wyoming are among the 14 states searching for this chain the most," the survey noted. "The pizzeria has 6,708 locations around the country with something for everyone, whether they prefer a margarita, pepperoni, or pineapple pizza."

Chick-Fil-A was a close third, with 11,239,300 searches per month in the nation.
