The California Lottery announced the name of the winner of the $1.2 billion Mega Millions ticket sold in Shasta County at the end of last year.

The ticket, which matched all six numbers, was sold at the Sunshine Food and Gas Circle K on Rhonda Road in Cottonwood on Dec. 27. It was California's largest Mega Millions jackpot in state history.

Casarotti chose not to be present during Monday's announcement. However, the California Lottery said she chose to take the lump sum which will amount to more than $570 million.

Lottery leaders also announced $89.5 million for public education across the state as a result of the win.

Staff from the Circle K received a $1 million bonus from the win, which is the highest bonus a retail store can get.
