Eight baby raccoons are on their way to their forever homes after being rescued at a construction site in Utah.

The Morgan County Fire Department said a member of the demolition crew working in the area came to the station Wednesday afternoon requesting help.

After the construction crew knocked down an abandoned home, the worker said they heard chirping in the rubble.

The group discovered eight baby raccoons but no sign of a mother.

Firefighters responded and were able to rescue the babies, with assistance from Morgan County Animal Control.

Morgan County Fire personnel brought the raccoons back to the station and kept them comfortable with full bellies while they waited on someone with a permit to legally raise raccoons.
