7-year-old on a mission to spread kindness with friendship bracelets

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — Spreading kindness.

That’s the mission of a 7-year-old girl in Horry County.

Skylar Catron makes and hands out friendship bracelets to create and teach kindness.She said when she hands them to people they smile and say, "Wow, thank you super much!"

Skylar is a USA National Miss South Carolina Princess, and her initiative goes along with the National platform The Crown Cares, which is about preventing bullying. Her sister Sloan is a USA National Miss South Carolina Junior Princess. She's helping spread kindness, too, with Coloring Kindness.

They are also collecting bottle caps to build Buddy Benches.Buddy Benches are for playgrounds. If a child is lonely and wants a friend or someone to play with, they can it on the buddy bench.
