Despite a church closure due to coronavirus (COVID-19), a choir based in Queens, New York, virtually congregated over a Zoom call to sing for Holy Week.

The Queens-based choir of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church delivered an online performance of “Via Dolorosa” which translates from Latin to English as “Sorrowful Way.” The New York neighborhood of Queens has been particularly hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, with over 87,028 confirmed cases and 7,067 deaths in New York City as of April 10.

The Diocese of Brooklyn’s press release on April 10 shared a quote from Bryan Kwon, St. Sebastian’s music director: “We are separated in our location but we are together in God’s spirit”.
