VIDEO: One wanted, one arrested in Pensacola, Fla. stoplight shootout

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) — A brazen shootout in Pensacola was caught on camera.

The Escambia County Sheriff's Office (ECSO) now needs help finding one of the men they believe was involved.

The shooting took place on W Street at Fairfield Drive around noon on Monday.

Many bystanders were caught in the middle of the gunfight with nowhere to go.

It was over almost as fast as it started.

A silver Lexus squeezes in between the center and turn lanes.

A dash cam captured the moment Jonathan Harris opened fire on a gold sedan.

The passenger of that car, Jeremy Olds, dodged out and hid behind a truck caught in the middle.

Olds fired back at the Lexus as it made a quick getaway.

ESCO Chief Deputy Chip Simmons said, "As you can imagine, if you're driving and you're stopped at a red light, cars to your left, cars to your right, and they're exchanging gunfire how traumatic that could be."

In total, 12 rounds were exchanged.

Olds was arrested and has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Deputies are still looking for Harris and the silver Lexus with Florida tag HVRG69.

Simmons said, "As you can imagine this type of stuff doesn't happen often in the streets of Escambia County, but what it does it could be a horrific incident especially if you're the one that's in or near the intersections involved."

Traffic at the intersection is always busy.

The shocking video caught the attention of those who frequent the area.

Gloria Nguyen, an employee at the Exxon gas station on that intersection, said video looks chaotic.

"They could have shot anywhere. They could have shot in the store. I could be shot. My brother could be shot. I don't like it," Nguyen said.

Romney Crenshaw also reacted to the video.

"They're bold and they're out. There has to be street cameras there, and he gets out of his vehicle. It's a straight shootout," Crenshaw said.

Some like Crenshaw are second-guessing what parts of town are safe and which are not.

She said, "I've been warned about certain areas, but not over here. Like further into Pensacola like you have the little ghetto areas that you think that's where it's at. You stay out of there you're good but obviously not."

There were two kids in the backseat of the gold car involved in the shooting. Four rounds went into that vehicle. The children's ages are two and eight.

Luckily no one was hurt in the shootout.

Harris is considered armed and dangerous. He is facing four counts of aggravated assault and potentially one attempted murder charge.
