SC sheriff's office jokes kids dressed 'like a cop this Halloween' will work 12-hour shift

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — A sheriff's office in South Carolina is embracing the Halloween spirit and joked about hiring kids dressed as cops.

The Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook about filling a staffing shortage and said kids dressed as cops will be required to pick up a twelve-hour shift.

"Due to a staffing shortage, any child dressed like a cop this Halloween will be required to pick up a twelve-hour shift. We hope that you have a safe and Happy Halloween Weekend," Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office said.

Commenters seemed to enjoy the humor and asked if adults could join in on the offer.

Other people said their child would love to be a real cop.
