A sea turtle on Navarre Beach was in a dangerous situation after its mouth was snagged by a fishing hook, so a man dove into the water to save the day.

With Subtropical Storm Alberto making it's way toward the panhandle, officials advise everyone to stay out of the water.

But that didn't stop Jim Holmes with Navarre Sea Turtle Patrol and the Conservation Center from saving the hooked turtle.

The Navarre Sea Turtle Patrol has rescued four turtles over the weekend and 20 in the last 30 days.

This sea turtle got hooked on the pier, and once saved it was discovered that the turtle had been captured and tagged before.

Officials will x-ray the sea turtle to ensure there are no other hooks inside of it. Once x-rays are complete, the sea turtle will be released back into the ocean.

In the mean time, the turtle will be provided a temporary home at Gulfarium Park.
