EL PASO, Texas (KFOX) — The City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) welcomed the community to the 2023 Dia de Los Muertos Celebration and Parade, held on Saturday, in the heart of the Downtown Arts District.
This annual celebration was a collection of Dia de Los Muertos traditions and activities that engaged families throughout the Downtown Arts District, including prominent venues such as the El Paso Museum of Archaeology (EPMArch), El Paso Museum of Art (EPMA), El Paso Museum of History (EPMH), and the forthcoming Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC).
A vibrant highlight of the festivities was the Dia de Los Muertos parade, which commenced at 4 p.m. local time.
This spectacular procession featured large marionettes, alebrijes (colorful Mexican folk art sculptures), and floats inspired by the culture of Veracruz.
