California Highway Patrol, animal rescue team work to get sea lion off Santa Cruz highway

SANTA CRUZ, Calif (FOX26) — A sea lion was rescued from Highway 1 near Santa Cruz.

CHP Santa Cruz says on Saturday a sea lion was stuck on Highway 1 near Highway 129.

CHP officers and an animal rescue team captured the animal and safely got it off the road.

CHP says the animal is now on its way to recovery.
