The Capitals’ T.J. Oshie had to refill his Metro card on the way to the arena for Game 4

WASHINGTON (ABC7) — T.J. Oshie took the Metro again Monday ahead of the Capitals’ Stanley Cup Final game, but this time, he had to make a quick stop along the way.

After getting off at Gallery Place, Oshie had to stop at a fare vending machine to refill his Metro card before he could exit the station to walk the short distance from there to Capital One Arena ahead of Washington's 6-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights.

According to Twitter user @CDLori, who took photos of the encounter, he was short by 35 cents before Metro staff just let him through.

A video also was shared of Oshie walking up to the fare machine.

Oshie, along with defenseman Matt Niskanen, also rode the Metro to Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday – an experience also captured on social media by onlookers.

Niskanen was with Oshie again on Monday, though it seems he didn't have the same fare issues.

Oshie scored the opening goal and added two assists in the Capitals' Game 4 victory.
