Early voting numbers surpassed the 50 million mark Tuesday nationally, according to data from the University of Florida's Election Lab, almost one-third of the total turnout in 2020. This milestone hit exactly one week away from Election Day.

The data shows Democrats outperforming Republicans overall by about 3%, but Republicans are encouraged by early turnout in Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina. These are three of the seven swing states expected to determine the outcome of the election.

Experts, meanwhile, are cautioning against attempting to read the tea leaves of early voting data due to unpredictable and changing trends.

With just seven days to go, Kamala Harris is holding a rally in Washington D.C. Tuesday evening. Donald Trump started Tuesday at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, before heading to Allentown, Pennsylvania. Tuesday is the last day to vote early in the crucial swing state.
