NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) -- Country singer Maren Morris had some exciting news to share Tuesday afternoon. The "GIRL" singer and husband Ryan Hurd are expecting a child.
The country couple announced they will welcome a baby boy to the world in 2020.
"The irony is just too rich that after a year of living in the “GIRL” headspace, the universe would give us a baby boy to even things out. See you in 2020, little one," Maren Morris shared on Twitter.
The mom-to-be posted a photo from a maternity shoot along with the announcement.
The Grammy award-winning artist is known for breaking musical barriers by blending hints of country, pop and folk styles into her songs.
The singer's second album "GIRL" was released this year. Its 13 tracks cross genres and have earned a CMA Award nomination for album of the year.
The Texas native hit airwaves with album "HERO" in 2016. Her debut single "My Church" set country radio records, went double platinum and landed her a Grammy.
She's collaborated with several performers like Zedd and Grey on "The Middle", Thomas Rhett on "Craving You" and Vince Gill on "Dear Hate." She's also part of the supergroup The Highwomen along with Brandi Carlile, Amanda Shires and Natalie Hemby.
