SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Love stories aren’t uncommon in Hollywood. However, the tale of Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci is a romance story filled with backstabbing greed, power moves, a family’s legacy, a multi-million-dollar fashion brand, betrayal, and murder for hire. That’s quite the love story.
So, we talk about Reggiani and how taking on the role meant that Lady Gaga would need to approach the project from a place love.
“When I met with [director] Ridley [Scott] he quickly said to me, ‘You know she really loved him, and they were really in love.’”
That’s when she knew she had to be part of “House of Gucci.”
Lady Gaga tells me about how her mother was an influence on her interest in fashion. It’s not a story I was expecting. It reminds me of sitting on my mother’s bed in the early morning while she put her makeup on. It was a ritual of sorts. Like a knight putting on its armor before marching into battle.
“Strength and fashion kind of go hand in hand for me.”
That’s something we can agree on. It takes confidence and self-fortitude to make it through this life.
