WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) -- Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel and a group of actors such as Mark Hamill, Lupita N'yongo and Emily Blunt left the ceremony and walked across the street to a movie theater.
Their purpose? To thank moviegoers for their support.
Jimmy Kimmel's sidekick Guillermo led the way while holding two flags with the Academy Awards logo. The surprise moment occurred at TCL Theater in Los Angeles, Calif. while the moviegoers were watching a preview of Disney's "A Wrinkle in Time."
A live feed from the Oscars was shown to moviegoers. As the feed was shown, all of the stars inside of the Dolby Theater yelled out towards the moviegoers - "thank you."
Lin Manuel Miranda, Gal Gadot, Margot Robbie and Arnie Hammer also participated and gave away hot dogs, subs, and candy among other things.
