NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) – Country legend Dolly Parton is again showing off her generous spirit and making a huge donation in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Dolly is donating $1 million to Vanderbilt to help in the research to hopefully find a cure for COVID-19.

Dolly posted on social media on Wednesday that her longtime friend and Vanderbilt researcher Dr. Naji Abumrad said they are making strides towards research for a cure.

In response, Dolly said she's donating $1 million toward that research.

She's also encouraging those who can to make donations.

Dolly has a history of giving back, like with her Imagination Library that sends free books to children or raising over $9 million for Gatlinburg wildfire relief.

She's also hoping to lift spirits during the COVID-19 pandemic by reading some of her Imagination Library books to kids.
