In a recent promo video for American Idol, Noah Davis, a contestant from Royal, Arkansas, uses a word many are now questioning the meaning of, "wig."

It seems Davis and Katy Perry, one of the show's three judges, have an immediate connection when she understands what he is saying.

But what on earth does it mean?

Katy Perry explains the term in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel.

"It's a language that sometimes the kids and I speak," Perry said in an interview with Kimmel. "When somebody basically sings really well and they sang. They sing so well that the wig flies off."
