World War II veteran celebrates birthday in quarantine

WASHINGTON (SBG) — A U.S. veteran celebrated their birthday in a special way this week.

Fred Blackmer, who is celebrating his 94th birthday, served in World War II.

Blackmer was surrounded outside by police officers and community members at his home in Volusia County, Florida. A parade of police cars put on their sirens as Blackmer waved at them in gratitude.
