MILWAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (SBG) - A bus driver with the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) jumped into action on May 15 when she spotted a 6-year-old boy running through traffic while on her route, the county transit system posted on their website.

According to MCTS, the child had a disability and had somehow wandered away from his school that was nearby.

The driver,Cecilia Nation-Gardner, says she spotted the child and started honking her horn to warn other drivers who didn't see the boy, before getting out of the vehicle and taking the child by hand safely into the bus where they waited for police to arrive.

Nation-Gardner credits God for having her at the right place at the right time.

"I ended up leaving my layover two minutes later than normal," Nation-Gardner said. "That’s why I say I was in the right place at the right time. It was meant for me to be there. God does everything for a reason."

MCTS says the incident marked the tenth time a lost or missing child was found by one of their drivers in recent years.
