FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. (STORYFUL) - It was a Fourth of July to remember for people gathered for the fireworks in Fernandina Beach, Florida, as they were treated to the sight of dozens of sea turtles hatching and making their way to the sea.

This footage, shot by Becky Finsness, shows the tiny hatchlings flapping across the sand while fireworks are heard popping and cracking in the background.

Finsness told CNN in an interview she had lived in the area for 30 years and never seen anything like it.

“All I know (is) one minute I’m standing there enjoying some fireworks from beachgoers, and then next minute this awesome act of nature started unfolding right in front of me,” she said to CNN.

“Other beachgoers were standing around, and as my son put it, ‘It was like the splitting of the Red Sea’ everyone took a step back and allowed the baby sea turtles to make their way to the ocean.”
