REDINGTON BEACH, Fla. (STORYFUL) -- Beachgoers helped staff from the Clearwater Marine Aquarium lift a 1,000-pound pilot whale off a Florida beach on July 29. The team effort, at Redington Beach, was recorded by local reporter Angie Angers.

The whale was one of five pilot whales that became stranded on Monday morning.

A US Coast Guard crew returned three of the stranded whales to the sea, while the remaining two whales were brought to a rehabilitation center in Tarpon Springs.

Large crowds gathered to assist the stranded whales, and tents were placed over them to keep them cool.
