Residents confined across Italy turned to music to keep spirits high during the nationwide quarantine, taking to their balconies and windows to communicate with others, clapping, dancing, and singing.

The World Health Organization (WHO) reported almost 25,000 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Italy by Monday afternoon, with just over 1,800 deaths.
