Staff at a hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, gathered on April 6 to celebrate as the first patient in their facility to recover the new coronavirus, COVID-19, was reunited with his family.

Video shot by Bob Begliomini, Senior Vice President at Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Muhlenberg, shows the moment the patient, Chris McMillan, was reunited with his partner Jen Santina.

McMillan, who is in his forties, was put into an induced coma throughout his treatment since late March, before he started to show signs of recovery and was taken off the ventilator on April 2, according to reports.

As of April 10, there were 19,979 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Pennsylvania, and 416 deaths, according to the state’s Department of Health.
