Kittens rescued from storm drain find 'fur-ever' homes

OSCALA, Fla. (STORYFUL) - Four kittens rescued on August 12 from a storm drain at an elementary school near Ocala, Florida, found their “fur-ever” homes with school staff and a school resource officer, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).

Bodycam footage shared by the sheriff’s office shows School Resource Officer (SRO) Chuck Etheridge and Fessenden Elementary School employees lifting kittens out of the water and into a basket. One kitten was particularly skittish, so the basket was lowered down to encourage the kitten to jump into it himself.

Two black kittens, both male and named Loki and Thor, and a female orange kitten named Captain America were taken home by one of the teachers, according to the MCSO. The fourth cat, who is the first seen lifted from the water in the video, found a new home with SRO Etheridge, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office did not provide any indication of how the kittens ended up in the storm drain
