SAN DIEGO, Calif. (STORYFUL) -- WWE star and actor John Cena paid out $1 to San Diego Padres pitcher Logan Allen after he made his Major League Baseball debut on June 19th, after having bet Allen that he couldn’t make the major leagues.
Fernando Ramirez shared footage of the bet exchange on Twitter, where Cena is seen handing over an autographed $1 bill to Allen. Cena said the pair met by chance in a steakhouse in Tampa, Florida, and, in an effort to motivate the pitching prospect, Cena bet Allen that if he made it to the major leagues that he would give him an autographed one-dollar bill.
Allen pitched seven scoreless innings on his debut, with the Padres winning 4-1 against the Milwaukee Brewers.
