A large party in East Nashville is under investigation by the Mayor's office, which has issued a Stop use Order for "illegally operating a commercial business in a residential district."

Hundreds attended the party at 21 Fern Avenue Saturday for "The Fashion House," their Instagram page says it's a tribute to the high-end fashion designers and iconic brands. The party grew much criticism from the community and Metro Council members.

Nashville is currently in a modified Phase Two of its reopening plan after reverting back from Phase Three last month amid a continuing upward trend of COVID-19 cases in Music City. Under Phase Two with modifications, an event is to be limited to a gathering size of 25 people.

Mayor John Cooper tweeted Monday the party is a "clear violation" of Nashville's modified Phase Two Public Health Order.

"My office is working with Metro Codes, Metro Legal, and Public Health to investigate this weekend’s party on Fern Avenue and those responsible for organizing it," Mayor Cooper tweeted. "Metro Codes has confirmed through the Tennessee Secretary of State’s website that The Fashion House is an active LLC operating out of 21 B Fern Avenue. We have posted a Stop Use Order on this property for illegally operating a commercial business in a residential district. We will continue with our investigation and provide updates as they become available."
