'Clap Because We Care': Fire Department applauds New York health care workers

Fire engines joined in with public applause and cheers outside New York-Presbyterian Hospital on York Avenue in Manhattan, as part of New York’s Clap Because We Care health care worker morale initiative, video shared on April 5 shows.

Shouts of “thank you” could be heard down the street as the city joined together at 7 pm for the now-daily celebration of its essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This video shows New York City Fire Department vehicles flashing their lights outside New York-Presbyterian Hospital to show their support for the medical staff.

As of April 6, New York City officials reported 67,820 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus and 3,048 deaths.
