An EF-3 tornado killed at least 22 people in Nashville and surrounding areas on the morning of Tuesday, March 3. The storm caused widespread property damage and left thousands without power, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency said.

This aerial footage shows the significant damage sustained in Lebanon, Tennessee, 25 miles east of downtown Nashville. The Lebanon Police Department shared these videos of severely damaged homes, some of which appear to have collapsed, and a damaged Walmart Supercenter on Cumberland Street.

In the Walmart parking lot, tractor-trailers lie on their sides. Winds in the area reached 136-140 mph, reports said.

Tennessee Gov Bill Lee declared a state of emergency on Tuesday morning, media reported.

Nashville Mayor John Cooper said in a statement on Tuesday, “My administration is committed to matching the courage and strength of spirit shown by the tornado survivors I met with this morning, who serve as an example to us all. With solidarity, we begin the path forward to recovery.”
