LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) – Sam's Club has announced that they are introducing 'Hero Hours' for first responders and healthcare workers to shop without a membership.

The retail chain said starting Sunday, April 19, and continuing every Sunday from 8 - 10 a.m., there will be special hero hours nationally to "help your community's heroes do what they do best -- keep you safe."

They said those shopping and store associates will be provided masks and will be practicing social distancing.

"We're proud to help the first responders and healthcare workers to help all of us," Sam's Club wrote Monday in a tweet. "Thank you to the heroes working to take care of America. We're all in this together."

Sam's Club wrote the define first responders as anyone who delivers care and services to the sick and ailing either directly or indirectly or anyone who's helping us fight this virus.
