NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) -- Metro Nashville Police have charged a man who was under quarantine with escape for leaving the homeless shelter at the Nashville Fairgrounds.

According to the arrest affidavit for Randle Kirkley, Kirkley was quarantined on Thursday after testing positive for COVID-19 on Monday. He was informed by the Metro Nashville Health Department he would not be able to leave the premises until cleared.

Yesterday, Kirkley jumped a fence at the facility and left, prompting police to stop him and arrest him nearly 2 miles away, according to officials.
