PAMLICO COUNTY, N.C. (WCTI) - A woman was arrested on drug charges last week after she went to the Pamlico County Detention Facility to visit an inmate and detectives realized she had an outstanding warrant.

Pamlico County deputies arrested Kimberly Rossi, 53, on multiple drug charges last Thursday. Officials said Rossi showed up at the facility to visit an inmate. While she was sitting in the lobby of the sheriff's office, officials said deputies realized she had an outstanding warrant.

Deputies approached Rossi and told her she was under arrest. Officials said that's when Rossi pulled a pill bottle out of her pocket and handed it to a juvenile who was with her.

The pill bottle contained numerous types of controlled medication, officials said. Rossi was charged with the following offenses:

  • Four counts trafficking opium (Oxycodone)
  • Simple possession Sch. II CS (Methadone)
  • Simple possession Sch. IV CS (Alprazolam)

Rossi is being held under a $250,000 secured bond.
