STROUD, Okla. (KTUL)- Weddings are a time for families to come to celebrate love, but the coronavirus is keeping people at a distance.
One bride from Stroud wasn't going to let anything keep her grandmother from being a part of her special day.
Liz Martin’sgrandmother was a major part of her life while she was growing up. Playing a big part in raising her.
But the woman she calls nanny is now in an assisted living home and wasn't able to leave to attend her wedding this past weekend because of the coronavirus outbreak.
On her way to her wedding, she stopped by the assisted living home.
Through the window, she was able to see her grandmother and show off her wedding gown.
"We ended up being like semi surprised too because not only was it her, but they ended up getting all the residents,” Martin said. “So it was honestly, like really, really fun."
"It was the best, it was honestly the best, I am so glad that we did it, it was so hard, but I'm so glad that we did it," she said.
And needless to say, the surprise made everyone's day, plus extra special memories of a beautiful wedding.
