CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) - A Charleston woman has been charged after court records said she had stabbed a woman after she refused to trade cigarettes for a bottle of perfume.

Brandi Nichole Peck, 39, of Charleston, is charged with malicious wounding.

According to a criminal complaint from the Kanawha County Magistrate Court, the victim was in the kitchen about 11:30 p.m. Sunday when Peck stepped into the doorway, holding a bottle of perfume. Peck told the other woman she would trade the perfume for a cigarette, the complaint said.

After the woman said she didn’t have any cigarettes, Peck became angry and attacked her with a small, black-handled kitchen knife, the complaint said. The victim was left with a small laceration on her upper left arm.

Peck is being held in the South Central Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond or 10 percent cash.
