CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) -- Ross County authorities have identified and charged the person they say is responsible for abandoning a dog in a park with"free" and "good home only" written in permanent marker on her.

Kendra Stafford faces charges of animal cruelty and animal abandonment.

A dog found in Ross County with the words free, and good home only will soon have a new home.The dog was left in a kennel and abandoned in a park in Chillicothe, according to Ross County Humane Society, Brittany May. The puppy had writing all over her body

The dog, a 5-6 month-old lab mix which was taken in by the Ross County Humane Society, has since been named Marvela and adopted.

Stafford's expected to be arraigned in Chillicothe Municipal Court on June 8th at 9 am.
