Woman caught on camera stealing boy's bike from library

POLK CITY, Fla. (CBS12) — Deputies in central Florida are looking for a bike thief.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office shared surveillance video of a 12-year-old pedaling up to a library in Polk City. The boy parked it and walked inside.

Minutes later, the sheriff's office said a woman walked out of the library and helped herself to the boy's bike.

Investigators believe she's between 20 and 30 years old.

The bike is only worth about $75, but it means a lot to the boy who owns it, the sheriff's office said.

Days later, thanks to tips from the community, deputies identified the suspect and issued a warrant for 28-year-old Kourtni Wheeler of Auburndale.
