Wisconsin couple claims $316.3 million Powerball jackpot

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WLUK) – A Wisconsin couple has claimed the$316.3 million Powerball ticketsold at an Ashwaubenon gas station last month.

Tammy and Cliff Webster of Oneida Nation purchased the winning ticketat Jackson Pointe Citgo.

“We are sincerely grateful for this incredible event,” said Tammy. “We always believed that we had a chance to win if we played and this is a dream come true.”

Cliff agreed: "This is a wonderful blessing, and we are incredibly thankful and most appreciative of this opportunity."

Oneida Nation chairman Tehassi Hill calls it a life-changing event.

"This is the first time to my knowledge of a Oneida citizen winning such a large amount of money, but it's just an amazing story. Obviously they worked their entire lives and built a wonderful life together," Hill said.

Wisconsin Lottery officials say the couple chose to take the cash optionof $225.1 million rather than annual payments. After federal taxes of $54 million and state taxes of $17.2 million, their final take home amount is $153.9 million.

The couple split the $632.6 million jackpotwith another winner who bought a ticket in California.

For selling the winning lottery ticket, Jackson Pointe Citgo will receive a $100,000 incentive. The jackpot was the seventh largest in Powerball history.
