(KUTV) – A group of motorcyclists was split on whether or not to stop for a pair of Saratoga Springs police officers who tried to stop them on Redwood Road.

Dash camera video shows one rider pulled over, but the other two fled from officers at speeds that were “well in excess of 100 miles-per-hour,” according to Saratoga Springs police.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon near Camp Williams. After fleeing from the first officers, backup officers caught up with the pair again near Crossroads Boulevard and Redwood Road.

Another brief chase ensued, but officers called it off because the pair was driving too recklessly, Sgt. Roger Williams said.

“We see so many motorcyclists that flee that end up crashing,” Williams said.

The third motorcyclist who stopped was issued a citation and allowed to go on his way. Police are continuing to track down the other two riders, but said when they are apprehended, they will face serious charges.

“You might get a ticket, you might get a warning but if you take off, we will do our very best to find you and charge you with the crimes you have committed. Fleeing from a police officer is a felony,” Williams said.
