HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) - An Horry County U.S. Marine is back from a seven-month deployment and he gave his son the surprise of a lifetime.

Nick Horn and his wife, Michelle, have been planning his homecoming surprise for days.

He’s stationed at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

The couple knew they wanted to surprised their son, Nicholas, but didn’t quite know how.

While Michelle was getting her hair cut, a new salon chair was delivered, she said.

Michelle said that is when she had the idea to use the giant box as part of the surprise.

Here’s the video Michelle posted on Facebook:

Nick also surprised the family dogs, which were also very excited to see him.

Since the reunion video was posted online, Michelle said her phone has been ringing off the hook.

She’s so glad to see how supportive the community has been, and she’s just excited to have some family time.

Nick still has to report back to Camp Lejeune on weekdays, but Michelle said he’ll be home with the family on weekends.

It’s still time apart, but Michelle said it’s so much more time together than theyvre had for months, so they’re all thankful.
