WASHINGTON (WJLA) - Authorities have released video of a suspect destroying a speed camera in D.C. last Tuesday.

Metropolitan Police say the footage is from the 1500 block of Kenilworth Avenue NE. During that same night,police say at least two cameras were knocked over in the 800 block of Eastern Avenue NE, while other cameras were damaged in the area of Kenilworth Avenue and Benning Road. Police say at least four cameras were damaged or destroyed on about a 1 1/2-mile stretch in the District. Some even had wiring and other equipment ripped out of them.

Authorities have not released a motive and have not said whether the cameras were specifically targeted or if this was just a random act of vandalism.

Officers say the destruction of police property is a serious crime but no arrests have yet been made.
