WATCH: Air Force Staff Sgt. surprises her son on last day of pre-K

Sweet little John Michael Savarese, a pre-K student at T.H. Johnson Elementary School in Taylor, has had to deal with his mother, Air Force Staff Sgt. Maria Chapman, being deployed for a long time.

However, 4-year-old John got the surprise of his life when his mom showed up during an awards ceremony on Thursday morning.

John presented his military hero mother with a bouquet of flowers, thanks to the T.H. Johnson staff.
