VIDEO: Utah police officer rescues dog trapped in river

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) —A dog is back with its owner after a Logan, Utah police officer stepped into the Logan River to rescue the trapped pooch.

According to a video Facebook post by the Logan City Police Department, Officer Larsen took off his boots and stepped into the cold river so he could get to the dog with a dog-catching pole.

In the video, the dog resists as Larsen slowly moves the dog closer to the shore.

The dog made it out safely and police said the dog was safely returned to its owner.

The dog did not have any "obvious" injuries.
