COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A lucky pig is being cared for after she fell from a transport onto a highway in Ohio.
The piglet — named Pearl Pancetta by the Ross County Humane Society — fell along US-35 Thursday, and troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) stopped to help her.
The troopers combed through the vegetation and brought her to the Ross County Humane Society, which said she was fine other than some road rash.
Pearl was taken to an employee's home until they find a new place for her.
"Pearl will be joining some pot-bellied friends in a few days where she will live out her life and not become pancetta," the rescue said.
