WASHINGTON (TND) — Will Twitter's Elon Musk and Meta's Mark Zuckerberg face off in a cage match?
Well, both have seemingly agreed to do just that.
"I’m up for a cage match if he is lol," Musk wrote on Twitter in response to a tweet on June 20 about the CEOs.
The original tweet came from Mario Nawfal, who is the host of Twitter’s Largest Spaces. Nawfal noted Meta began coding "Project 92" -- a Twitter competitor -- soon after Musk acquired Twitter in October.
Project 92 is allegedly Meta's "response to Twitter," withMeta's chief product officer Chris Cox insulting Twitter by saying, "been hearing from creators and public figures who are interested in having a platform that is sanely run."
Musk, who is 51 years old, later tweeted, "I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options."
Zuckerberg, who is 39 years old and owns Facebook and Instagram, replied to the suggestion of a cage match, reportedly saying, "Send Me Location."
Musk suggested the " Vegas Octagon" and went on to say that he has a "great move that I call 'The Walrus', where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing."
Twitter users have advised Musk to start training, adding that Zuckerberg is a martial arts enthusiast and aspirational MMA fighter.
Zuckerberg recently shared footage on Instagram in which he was sparring with Michael Musumeci Jr., an American submission grappler and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt competitor.
"Great learning from jiu jitsu legend @mikeymusumeci... and starting to prepare for our MMA debuts," Zuckerberg wrote, adding a winking emoji to the post.
No official date or venue has been set for the cage match.
