SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Officials are reminding the public to not brine your Thanksgiving turkey in the Great Salt Lake after one was found washed up on a beach.
Great Salt Lake State Park and Marina officials posted on Facebook that a turkey washed up on Silver Sands Beach at the Great Salt Lake recently.
"Just your annual reminder not to use Great Salt Lake to brine your turkey," officials said.

It appears the strength of the waves may have caused someone trying to brine their turkey in the water to lose said turkey.
Also, officials said the salinity in the water is too high for proper brining, anyway.
