Toys 'R' Us to close last 200 stores in US on Friday

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — Everyone's favorite toy store will be officially closing after 70 years.

Toys 'R' Us will close its last 200 stores in the US on Friday as well as the remaining Babies 'R' Us stores.

After filing for bankruptcy in September 2017 to try to restructure the company, Toys 'R' Us started liquidation sales in March.

Toys 'R' Us is also having a countdown on their Twitter page until their closing.

The toy store's website is also reflecting the upcoming closure. On the front page, there's a message to customers asking to always "play on".
