GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WCYB) — A man was taken into custody late Sunday at a Greene County, Tennessee campground following complaints from guests about a man running around yelling about a bear attack.
An officer arrived just after 10 p.m. at Horse Creek Park in Greeneville and the deputy was told Jessie Robinson, 26, had run into his home after a camper said the suspect was running through the area telling folks his family had been attacked and killed by bears, according to an official police report.
Robinson came to the door and asked the officer if he saw all the bears. He also told the deputy that he had been using methamphetamine, the report said.
The suspect was taken to an area hospital where he told medical staff that his shoulder was knocked out of place when he "killed two bears with his sword."
Robinson was released from the hospital and then taken to jail after he was charged with one count of public intoxication.
