Skittles teams up with French's to create mustard-flavored Skittles

WASHINGTON (TND) — It's a candy creation no one asked for: Mustard-flavored Skittles.

While the idea of mustard-flavored candy may seem odd to some, the partnership between French's and Skittles is happening because August 5 is National Mustard Day.

"This National Mustard Day, we’ve created a confectionary classic that lives at the intersection of condiment and candy: Mustard SKITTLES," McCormick & Company (the parent company of French's) stated in a news release. "We’ve added our own flavorful shade of yellow to this fun-sized staple, crafting a sweet and savory treat that’s sure to tang up your taste buds."

Mustard fans won't be able to purchase mustard Skittles in stores as the promotion will only be available at mobile locations in certain cities.

SKITTLES is a candy that needs no introduction, but deserves a lot of love," McCormick & Company stated. "That’s why when they hopped on board to combine their candy with our tang, we were over the moon. Then we tasted them and shot right through it. Few partnerships make sense. This one truly does not, which means it absolutely does."
