SAN ANTONIO — Toys"R"Us may be closing, but the San Antonio Zoo hopes it can give Geoffrey the Giraffe a new job as an ambassador for giraffes in the wild.
The zoo released a new video on Thursday asking the owners of Toys"R"Us to consider allowing the Giraffe Conservation Foundation to use the famous mascot to promote the protection of the species.
"This is a chance for Geoffrey and the great people at Toys“R”Us to leave a legacy gift that has the potential to change the world and bring smiles to children for generations to come," said Tim Morrow, CEO of the San Antonio Zoo.
A GoFundMe page has been established to help the foundation raise money for their efforts.
