Virginia girl with special needs asks for birthday cards after no one comes to her party

RUSTBURG, Va. (WSET) — A special needs girl from Rustburg, Virginia is asking for birthday cards from the community after her mother says no one showed up to her birthday party, leaving her sad.

Kristina Bryan, who goes by Tina, recently turned 16-years-old on Sept. 18. Her mom, Angel Neighbors, says they planned out a party but no one from her school showed up.

"She feels like it is because she has special needs and she's different than everybody, so ever since then she has gone into a big depression." Neighbors says.

Now, to cheer her up, her mom is asking the community to send Tina birthday cards.

Neighbors says Tina loves Barbie Dolls but her mom says the sixteen year old would love any kind of card.

Neighbors saysthey are reaching out for cards because she wants to show her daughter that there are people in this world that do care.
