A Rhode Island man and his daughter's Halloween display portrays one that's become the center of a popular Netflix series.

For years, 45-year-old Steven Simoneau and his 11-year-old daughter Isabella, have watched "Stranger Things" together.

I love Stranger Things and every year we go kind of nuts for Halloween," said Simoneau. "This year, I wanted to pick just a theme and since we love Stranger Things, we went with that theme."

During the beginning of summer, Steven and Isabella went to work on their display that's located at their home on 32 Benjamin Dr. in North Providence.

Simoneau said he looked online to purchase things for it, but there weren't many "Stranger Things" props.

Since he has experience in the past creating sets for things like music videos, he and Isabella went to work.

“Anytime she was bored, (she) came in the garage and wanted to help me out," he said. "(The) majority of this is handmade. A lot of masking tape, pool noodles, a lot of glue sticks, spray foam, foam, all kinds of stuff. Mostly stuff laying around stuff I had already."

With the goal of creating the "Upside Down" world that's portrayed in the show, Simoneau created props for display with the ideas that came from all five seasons.

“I just wanted to take every villain from the series every season and put them up," he said.

Having purchased an old clock on Facebook marketplace, and some movement-detected fog machines, the display was officially put up in September.

That took many hours.

“It came out better than I thought it would came out," said Simoneau.

Simoneau's wife, Jen, who is also Isabella's mom, is impressed with their hard work.

“I didn’t quite know what they were getting into when they started until I started seeing the size of things and what was happening and it came out really cool," she said. “They had a lot of fun doing it and it was really cool to see all the different effects they were able to figure out how to do all this stuff."

The sci-fi scene is turning a lot of heads. It consists of many popular characters in the series.

Simoneau created his own "Vecna" villain, a "demodog" and "demogorgon." He also created a character to look like Max Mayfield, who like in an episode, is levitating in the upside down world.

A giant "spider monster" that took center stage in season 3 has completely consumed the left side of the outside of the Simoneau's home.

Soon, "demobats" he created from season 4 will be making an appearance by flying through the air.

A lot of people stopping taking pictures, screaming in front of the house, the neighbors love it," said Simoneau. “There’s a huge following and there’s a 'Stranger Things' crazy fan page and I put the pictures on there and it just went nuts."

“You can tell there’s a lot of Stranger Things fans in the area for sure," said Jen. “It's nice because you don’t get to know your neighbors nowadays, so we’ve met some cool people just coming to check it out."

Simoneau said he would love for the public to stop by and check out his display. Recently, he posted a sign in the area that reads "Stranger Things House" with an arrow to his neighborhood.

We put a lot of work into it to see that they enjoy it. That gives you pride," he said. “The more the merrier. If you love stranger things then I’m sure you’re going to want to see it."
